Taha's Roti Jala & Roti Canai

MALAYSIAN STREET FOOD

Simple small local stall for roti canai and roti jala. It's mainly for local workers and you're sitting by the road on plastic stalls, but trust me, it's worth it!

Roti Canai (7am - 11am)

My favourite place for roti canai in Penang. It's much better than the very famous stall on Jalan Transfer.

It's essential you have them freshly cooked as even a few minutes makes a huge difference. They need to be warm and crispy. I went one day at 9.30am and had 2 roti (9/10) with chicken curry (7.5/10) and beef curry (9/10). Definitely recommended!

If you arrive after 11am, he'll probably have some already cooked, but they won't be the same. Make sure you get there early to have them fresh!

Roti Jala (11am - 3pm)

The roti jala are good but they're always pretty much the same at each stall and their main use is for soaking up the delicious curries. His sign says 3pm but he usually closes before that.

Note: The stall is closed during Ramadan.
