Ali Nasi Lemak

MALAYSIAN STREET FOOD

As you walk in to the bustling Sri Weld food court, the first stand is selling lots of individually wrapped nasi lemak parcels in banana leaf. We watched them being made and asked which version is the best - one of the staff instantly and confidently answered "anchovies!" so we both went for it.

At RM1.80 it's ridiculously cheap and although the portions are small, it's quite filling. We both loved it but be warned, it's got a bit of a chilli kick to it. It's basically like sambal.

Which version?

I also tried the chicken version but the meat was tough, so I'd suggest sticking with the anchovies (which also comes with half a boiled egg on top).
