Popiah @ Padang Brown Hawker Center

MALAYSIAN STREET FOOD

Unfortunately it was mainly closed when I went (probably because of Ramadan) but it’s famous for having the best seafood popiah around. There are two halves to the market: Chinese in the afternoon and Malay in the evening.

I went back and unfortunately the owners were on holiday abroad for a couple of weeks. I confirmed the opening hours with the drinks stall next to it.

Third time lucky, I finally was there when it was open. They forgot my order (another stall owner reminded them after half an hour) but I'd been busy eating Hokkien Mee from another stall, so it wasn't a big deal. The popiah was tasty but probably not the best I've had. I think it needs more of a kick.
