RINGO

ルクア大阪店
JAPANESE DESSERT

Extremely popular brand for apple pies, I think originally from Tokyo. There's always a queue here and they only sell one thing: an apple & custard pie. Although from a British point of view, it's a turnover or pastry rather than a pie.

There's a limit of four pies per person and most people seem to get a box of four. I just got one (399 yen) and ate it straight away as they recommend to eat while hot. It was a very tasty apple pastry with the right sweetness and good flavours (although I'd prefer a big taste of cinnamon to go with it, personally). The pastry was a little greasy but that's just being picky. Overall it was delicious but I think excellent branding and marketing are probably the real reason for the constant queues.
